Broad Arrow DM

Born in 1941, he was trained at the farm of Sir Ernest Debenham in Dorset and was selected to accompaby the 5th Special Forces Group on three raids into enemy occupied France in 1943 under the code 41BA2793. Each flight home to London would be followed by a quick return to France via parachute. Communication between London and the French Resistance was vital. Broad Arrow completed the three flights in May, June and August 1943 in good time with each message intact. On 29th November 1945, he was the 31st recipient of the Dickin Medal.

For bringing important messages three times from enemy occupied country, viz: May 1943, June 1943 and August 1943, while serving with the Special Service from the Continent.
