Bred in Barnsley by Mr C Dyson and owned by Lady Mary Manningham-Buller, NPS.42.NS.7524 (also unnamed) completed three flights to be awarded the Dickin Medal. The first flight was on 23rd July 1942, but didnt return until the 28th. The flight was from Brittany. The second flight was from France, released on 10th May 1943, the bird got home on the 17th. The third flight was also from France and the pigeon returned on 26th July having been set free on the 22nd.

DM CITATION:

For bringing important messages three times from enemy-occupied country, viz: July 1942, May 1943 and July 1943, while serving with the Special Service from the continent.
