Frederick Samuel Marsh AM

b. 07/1857 Mansfield, Derbyshire.  d. 25/07/1892 Polesworth, Warwickshire.

Frederick Marsh was born in 1857 in Mansfield, the fourth of five children of Samuel and Hannah Bacon Marsh (nee Knowles). His mother died in 1876 when he was 19, and in April 1880, he married Anne L Hinton in Nottingham. Tragically, his wife died the following year only a few months after giving birth to their daughter Florence Hannah Bacon Marsh on 2nd January 1881. On 25th August 1885, Frederick married for a second time to Emily Jones in Polesworth, Warwickshire. They had two children, Frederick Ina (born 1887) and Ethel Kate (born 1892). Frederick died aged just 35 on 25th July 1892, only a few months after Ethel’s birth, and was buried on 29th July in Polesworth Cemetery.
