Thomas Worrall AM

b. 1848 Clifton, Lancashire. d. 1921 Salford, Lancashire.

Thomas was born in Clifton, Lancashire, the youngest of four children of Joshua and Bridget Worrall. On 1st October 1868, Thomas married Elizabeth Green at Christ Church, Pendlebury and had already been working down the mines for several years. Thomas and Elizabeth would have eight children, the youngest of whom, Wilfred, became a Manchester policeman. He retired from the mines sometime c.1908 and died in Salford in 1921.

THE Queen has been graciously pleased to confer ” The Albert Medal ” on the following persons, for conspicuous gallantry displayed on the occasion of the explosion at the Clifton Hall Colliery in June last: — ” The Albert Medal of the First Class.” Thomas Worrall, Underlooker.
