Sadly little is known about the life of George Herbert Frank who was the Works Manager of the Hickson & Welsh Chemical Works in Castleford, Yorkshire, when there was a huge explosion on 4th July 1930.

 

EM CITATION:

His Majesty The KING has been graciously pleased to award the Edward Medal to George

Herbert Frank, and the King’s Police Medal to George Douglas Horseman, Chief Officer of

the Castleford Fire Brigade, in recognition of their gallant conduct on the occasion of an explosion which occurred at Castleford on the 4th July 1930.
