James Connors MOH

DATE OF MOH ACTION: 21-22/09/1864 Strasburg, Virginia.

Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the service at Canajoharie, Montgomery County, New York. He served as a Private in the Union Army in Company E, 43rd New York Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for action on September 22, 1864 at Fisher’s Hill, Virginia. It was issued on October 6, 1864. His citation reads “Capture of flag.”

The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private James Connors, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 22 September 1864, while serving with Company E, 43d New York Infantry, in action at Fisher’s Hill, Virginia, for capture of flag.
