Thomas Davis MOH

Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Haverford, West Wales, he emigrated to America and served as a Private in Company C, 2nd New York Heavy Artillery, Union Army. In actions at Sailor’s Creek Deatonsville, Virginia, on April 6, 1865, Private Davis captured a flag of a Regiment of the Confederate Army. For bravery in the face of the enemy, he was awarded the Medal of Honor on May 3, 1865. He died at the age of 81 in Maspeth, New York.
