Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the US Army in New York, New York. He served as a Trumpeter in Company H, 6th US Cavalry. He eventually obtained the rank of Musician. He was awarded the CMOH for action at Sappa Creek, Kansas on November 16, 1876. His citation reads “Gallantry in action.”
