Indian Campaigns Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the US Army in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. He served as a First Sergeant in Company E, 5th US Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for action during the Apache Campaigns in 1872-73.
