Spanish-American War Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Limerick, Ireland, he served in the United States Marine Corp during the War with Spain with the rank of Private. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Cuzco, Cuba, on June 14, 1898. His citation reads simply “For heroism and gallantry in action”. His Medal was awarded to him on December 8, 1910.
