Alexander M Beattie MOH

Beattie served in the Civil War as Captain and commander of Company F, 3rd Vermont Volunteer Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at the Battle of Cold Harbor, Virginia on June 5, 1864. His citation reads “Removed, under a hot fire, a wounded member of his command to a place of safety”. He received the Medal of Honor on April 25, 1894 for his actions at the Battle of Cold Harbor. He died in Lancaster, New Hampshire on 7 March 1907, aged 78.
