Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Corporal in Company K, 211th Pennsylvania Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action at Petersburg, Virginia on April 2, 1865. His citation reads “Capture of flag.” He received his Medal just over a month later, on May 20, 1865.
