Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a captain in the Union Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a second lieutenant in Company G, 8th New York Cavalry for action on March 2, 1865 at Waynesboro, Virginia. His citation reads “Capture of flag.” He received his Medal less than a month after Waynesboro on March 26, 1865.
