Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He was a prisoner of war. He served as a Corporal in the Union Army in Company C, 3d Michigan Infanty. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on May 12, 1864 at Spotsylvania,Virginia. He did not receive his Medal until February 24, 1891.
