Byron E Pay MOH

Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the Union Army at Mankato, Minnesota and served as a Private in Company H, 2nd Minnesota Volunteer Infantry. At Nolensville, Tennessee on February 15, 1863, he was one of a detachment of 16 men who heroically defended a wagon train against the attack of 125 Confederate Cavalry. They repulsed the attack and saved the wagon train. His Medal was awarded to him on September 11, 1897.
