Charles D Ennis MOH

Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He served during the Civil War as a Private in Company G, 1st Rhode Island Light Artillery. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action at Petersburg, Virginia on April 2, 1865. His citation reads “Was one of a detachment of 20 picked artillerymen who woluntarily accompanied an infantry assaulting party and who turned upon the enemy the guns captured in the assault.” He didnt receive the Medal of Honor until 28 June 1892.
