Daniel Robert McFall MOH

b. 1836 Niagara County, New York. d. 05/11/1919 Milan, Michigan.

DATE OF MOH ACTION: 12/05/1864 Spotsylvania, Virginia.

Civil War Medal of Honor recipient. He served as a Sergeant in Company E, 17th Michigan Infantry, Union Army. On May 12, 1864, he captured Colonel Barker, commanding officer of the Confederate Brigade that charged the Union position at Spotsylvania, Virginia. On the same day he rescued Lieutenant George W. Harman of his regiment from the enemy. For bravery and courage in the face of the enemy, he was awarded the Medal of Honor on July 27, 1896.

Captured Col. Barker, commanding the Confederate brigade that charged the Union batteries; on the same day rescued Lt. George W. Harmon of his regiment from the enemy.
