Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the United States Army at Cincinnati, Ohio, and served as a Private in Company A, 7th United States Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for action on June 25, 1876 at the Little Big Horn River, Montana. He was presented with his Medal on October 5, 1878. His citation reads “Brought water to the wounded, at great danger to his life, under a most galling fire from the enemy”. After his discharge from the United States Army, he disappeared into history, and his subsequent life and final disposition remain unknown.
