DATE OF MOH ACTION: 31/03/1865 Petersburg, Virginia.

Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He was a prisoner of war. He served as a Corporal in the Union Army in Company D, 111th New York Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on March 31, 1865 at Petersburg, Virginia. His citation reads “Capture of flag of 41st Alabama Infantry (C.S.A.), together with the color bearer and one of the color guard.” He received the Medal just 4 days later on April 3, 1865.
