b. 1851 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. d. 10/06/1888 Sheridan, Kansas.

DATE OF MOH ACTION: 21/10/1876 Cedar Creek, Montana.

Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. Served during the Wars with the Plains Indians as a Corporal in Company H, 5th United States Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his continual bravery at Cedar Creek, Montana and various other locales from October 21, 1876 to January 8, 1877. His citation reads simply “Gallantry in action.” His Medal was awarded to him on April 27, 1877. His marker in Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery is a memorial marker. His actual burial site is at Red Top Cemetery in Quinter, Kansas.
