DATE OF MOH ACTION: 20-22/06/1900 China.

Boxer Rebellion Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Denmark, he immigrated to America in 1898 and joined the US Navy as a Seaman. During the relief expedition of the Allied forces in China in June 1900, he distinguished himself by meritorious conduct in the presence of enemy forces. His Medal of Honor was issued on June 19, 1901, and accredited to the state of California.

 

MOH CITATION:

Served with the relief expedition of the Allied forces in China on 13, 20, 21, and 22 June 1900. In the presence of the enemy during this period, Hansen distinguished himself by meritorious conduct.
