b. 29/02/1840 Monroe County, Michigan. d. 19/03/1923 Manning, Iowa.

DATE OF MOH ACTION: 03/05/1863 Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Civil War Medal of Honor recipient. Served as a Private in Company B, 47th Ohio Infantry. He was a member of the volunteers that attempted to run Confederate batteries with a steam tug and two barges loaded with ammunition stores at the Battle of Vicksburg, Mississippi on May 3, 1863. He did not receive the Medal until April 17, 1917.
