Henry E Plant MOH

Civil War Medal of Honor recipient. He entered the Union Army at Crockery, Michigan and served as a Corporal in Company F, 14th Michigan Infantry. On March 19, 1865 in the battle at Bentonville, North Carolina, he rushed forward to rescue his unit’s colors from the Confederates when his color bearer had fallen mortally wounded.

 

MOH CITATION:

Rushed into the midst of the enemy and rescued the colors, the color bearer having fallen mortally wounded.
