Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Army in Company M, 1st US Cavalry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action in the winter of 1872-73 in Arizona. His citation reads “Gallant conduct during campaigns and engagements with Apaches.” He received his Medal on August 12, 1875.
