DATE OF MOH ACTION: 22/05/1863 Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the Union Army in Company B, 113th Illinois Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on May 22, 1863 at Vicksburg, Mississippi. His citation reads “Gallantry in the charge of the “volunteer storming party”. He did not receive his Medal until July 9, 1894.
