Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the US Army at New York, New York. He served as a Private in Company F, 5th US Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for action at Whetstone Mountains, Arizona, on July 13, 1872. His citation reads “Drove off, singlehandedly, eight hostile Indians, killing and wounding five.” He received his Medal on December 4, 1874.
