Morgan D Lane MOH

Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in the Union Army Signal Corps. At Jetersville, Virginia , April 6, 1865, Private Lane in advance of the Army, pursued and captured 7 rebels, to include 2 naval officers, 1 engineer, 1 acting signal officer, 3 enlisted men and the flag of the Confederate gunboat Nansemond. He later rose to the rank of Sergeant and for that action was awarded the Medal of Honor on March 16, 1866.
