DATE OF MOH ACTION: 23/04/1875 Sappa Creek, Kansas.

Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the US Army at New York, New York. He served as a Private in Company H, 6th US Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for action at Sappa Creek, Kansas on April 23, 1875. His citation reads ” With five other men he waded in mud and water up the creek to a position directly behind and entrenched Cheyenne position, who were using natural bank pits to good advantage against the main column. This surprise attack from the enemy rear broke their resistance. He received his Medal on 16 November 1876. He died at Fort Lowell, Arizona and his remains were relocated to an unknown place.
