Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Captain in the US Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Second Lieutenant in Company H, 8th New York Cavalry for action at Waynesboro, Virginia on March 2, 1865. He received his Medal twenty four days later on March 26, 1865.
