Samuel McAllister MOH

b. 23/01/1869 Belfast, Ireland. d. 13/12/1903 on USS Wisconsin, Pacific Ocean.

Boxer Rebellion Medal of Honor recipient. Born in Belfast, Ireland to Scottish parents, he came to the United States in 1886 and became a naturalized American citizen in 1898. He served as an Ordinary Seaman, U.S. Navy. In action against the enemy at Tientsin, China, June 20, 1900, crossing the river in a small boat while under heavy enemy fire, he assisted in destroying buildings occupied by the enemy. He received his award on March 22, 1902 from President Theodore Roosevelt and his Medal of Honor was accredited to the state California. He was buried at sea between Japan and Hawaii. His Medal of Honor is location at the Naval Historic Center in Washington, D.C.

In action against the enemy at Tientsin, China, 20 June 1900. Crossing the river in a small boat while under heavy enemy fire, McAllister assisted in destroying buildings occupied by the enemy.
