Philippine Insurrection Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. Entered the service at Grafton, North Dakota, and served as a Private, United States Army in Company C, 1st North Dakota Infantry. Very little is known about his life particularly before his arrival in the United States and after his service in the US Army. His Medal was awarded on March 12, 1902.

Singlehanded and alone defended his dead and wounded comrades against a greatly superior force of the enemy.
