Ulric Lyons Crocker MOH

b. 05/09/1843 Ohio. d. 02/02/1913 Medora, Illinois. 

DATE OF MOH ACTION: 19/10/1864 Cedar Creek, Virginia.

Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in Company M, 6th Michigan Cavalry, Union Army. On October 19, 1864, during actions against Confederate forces at the Battle of Cedar Creek, Virginia, when Private Crocker’s company overrun an enemy position he captured the flag of 18th Georgia Infantry. For gallantry in the face of the enemy, he was awarded the Medal of Honor on October 26, 1864. He died at age 69 in Medora, Illinois.

The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private Ulric Lyona Crocker, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 19 October 1864, while serving with Company M, 6th Michigan Cavalry, in action at Cedar Creek, Virginia, for capture of flag of 18th Georgia (Confederate States of America).
