West Funk MOH

Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He enlisted in Company E, of the 19th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry as a Private. He was later mustered in the 121st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He received the rank of Lt. Colonel on April 1, 1865. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action received on April 9, 1865 at Appomattox Court House, Virginia for Capture of Flag of the 46th Virginia Infantry. He was presented with his Medal on 15 October 1872. Little is known about his later life. In some accounts he died in Smithtown, New York, and some state it was Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His burial location is unknown.
