Wilbur F Moore MOH

Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. Born in Lebanon, Illinois, in 1840, he served as a Private in Company C, 117th Illinois Infantry, Union Army. On December 16, 1864, during the Battle of Nashville, Tennessee, Private Moore was in an advance Union company on a Confederate battery. Being one the first to reach the enemy position, he captured the flag of the Confederate Battery. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for extraordinary heroism on February 22, 1865.
