Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He was buried under the name of William Phillipsen. He served as a Blacksmith in the United States Army in Troop D, 5th U.S. Cavalry. We was awarded the CMOH for action on September 29, 1879 at Milk Creek, Colorado. He did not receive his Medal of Honor until December 12, 1894.
