DATE OF MOH ACTION: 25/06/1876 Little Big Horn, Montana.

Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in Company D, 7th US Calvary. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on June 25, 1876 at the Little Big Horn River, Montana. His citation reads “Voluntarily brought water to the wounded under fire of the enemy.” He received his Medal on October 5, 1878.

Private Harris was originally interred in Ballard-Jarman Cemetery and moved to Camp Nelson in 1999.
